Is SmartCue other than a Tango / Scribe alternative?
The “TL;DR > Alternative to” section on this page lists Scribe and Tango, among others, as alternatives. That’s because SmartCue is also a sales experience platform for interactive product demos. It has additional layers on top for lead capture and sales. You can add “persona” avatars to your presentations and link them to custom CTAs, etc.
So you can surely replace Tango and Scribe for your step-to-step guides and even do more since SmartCue goes beyond them. Best to try it by yourself because it is so easy to use that it will only take you a few minutes!
Can you explain the Tier 1 active demo limits?
Tier 1 provides 10,000 demo views per month for a total of 100 active demos at any given time within your account. You can delete any demos you no longer need to free up your total demo limits.
Since Tier 1 is mapped to the Small plan features too. If you require unlimited demos, unlimited views, and additional features such as Branding removal or custom branding with CNAME, I recommend examining our higher tiers while the deal lasts.
What roles are available in SmartCue and what permissions do they have?
SmartCue provides three different roles to suit your organizational needs: Admin, Editor, and Viewer. Each role comes with its own set of permissions:
Admin: As an Admin, you have full access to the organization. This means you can change all the settings and manage every aspect of your SmartCue usage including billing.
Editor: Editors have the ability to edit, delete, and modify demos. They can’t alter organizational settings like an Admin, but they can create and manage the content that viewers see.
Viewer (collaborator): Viewers can view and share demos to which they have access. They don’t have permissions to edit or delete demos, making this role ideal for users who need to access and share your content without altering it.

A very nice application – unfortunately, social media and all information about the project have not been updated for over 6 months. I understand the project isn’t dead, but it seems dead – facts vs. opinion comment entry that the project is not dead.
What is most worrying is that the application works very poorly on mobile devices – currently over 50% of traffic comes from the phone – so it is difficult to use this application at all.

Regarding mobile devices: Right now, after recent changes, the application works better than before, but we all know how complicated is to make everything fit on a small screen. The SmrtCue team have been constantly changing things and pusing improvements (I believe this is their third version), so please, contact them with any relevant insights about how to improve the mobile view further.

Creating Smartcue demos sound interesting, but when capturing video or screenshots I always control them and I can save them anywhere. I’m afraid of depending on a format that is only offered by Smartcue. Could you clarify those concerns, please?
This is a good question. Honestly speaking, SmartCue is one of those unique LTDs that have big annual contacts with multinationals like Virgin Pulse and DARIO (Nasdaq company).
This is probably the LTD which is most difficult to go bankrupt right now, still, I understand your concern.
SmartCue currently allows you to export in multiple formats included video, PDF or GIF. Besides that, companies like this allow some migration time in case the worst would happen, which could even mean that there are other export formats. Anyway, since this is not contemplated to happen, I’d just enjoy to have the chance to grab one of the industry leader while they have the lifetime deal on (ending on Jan. 15).

Hello, If with Tier 10 you mean that if you can get two tier 5 and put them together in a single SmartCue account, yes, that’s possible. Each tier 5 gives you access to it’s own workspace with CNAME and all the features such as 20 editors each workspace, etc.

1. How Custom branding with CNAME can we have? – With custom branding, there will be no SmartCue logo, you can add your own logo in the loader screen and with CNAME, you can also have your own URL instead of the SmartCue branded URL.
2. Is there a workspace and permission control for the admin where i can assign certain editors to a certain workspace only? – Yes, you can have specific editors assigned to and invited to specific workspaces only. They will not be able to access any other workspace.
3. If there is a workspace system, can I assign cname to each workspace? – The Tier 5 is applicable only for 1 workspace. If you purchases additional Tier 5 codes, you can apply it to each new workspace that you create.

I’m a bit confused, since it says on this listing “Watermark Free Demos” but it shows the SmartCue logo at the bottom of the demos.
And you have this info on the site:

This might be a deal breaker for me, since this is a paid app, why is the need to advertise on our product? This feels like a feature if you have a free app.

Hi, I can understand the confusion. That’s why I’d like to start clarifying that the watermark usually refers to something that goes on top of the images.
This watermark is displayed on the “Small” plan but removed for the “Scale” plan.
Said that, as usual and obvious, the deal you buy is always linked to certain conditions depending on the stack you buy.
Right now, this is an “all you can eat deal” for multiple users for a single code with an unseen price nowadays.
Therefore, even if the developer has decided to present this awesome deal, they need to have some way of growing so the deal is sustainable for them.
Here is wherethe reduced branding comes to play (it is included not only in the LTD plan but also on the recurring mapped plan similar to other competitor apps software that you can find on the TL;DR section of this very same deal page).
Note that SmartCue has recently secured an important big recurring revenue contract with the multinational company VirginPulse on the very same plans and conditions you see on their website.
Going back to the lifetime deal: We are working with the developer’s team to make everytying as clear as possible and including options for everyone.

The product pitch paints a very intriguing solution and your video is nice, it unfortunately doesn’t show the product itself in use. So I am still not sure exactly how the product functions. Do you have demo videos with the product in action?
My second question is, what tier is the Scale Up Plan? What I mean is, is it the highest, lowest or mid tier in the scheme of things and will we always be mapped to that position? I ask because sometimes growing companies changes tier names among others at which point it doesn’t seem to matter what the old tier was called. So what level does this Scale Up Plan put our purchase.
