I had read other people talking about this on different groups. When I first read about it, I thought this could be really useful, because I was spending 1 + hours a day watching YouTube which is crazy but there are so many good topics on YouTube. Have you noticed that the majority of creators are stretching a good 3 – 5 minute topic into 20+minutes.
I figured TubeOnAI could save me a lot of time, so I bought the lowest level at a good price ($39) plus an early bird discount! Now, the first problem was TubeOnAI used a byok (bring your own key), which it asked for immediately so that I couldn't even see what I had bought and I had never had any experience with byok. Luckily, when I went to YouTube, TubeOnAI had a video that walked me through the steps, 30 minutes later I had my key and was ready to start.
The app is really nice, stable, and put together thoughtfully, including the extension. It allows me to get a basic overview summarization of the YouTube video in 30 seconds. This basic summary is good for about 65% of my videos but it allows me to decide on if I want to watch the 20 minute video or not. Now, for the remaining 35% videos that I am really interested in a basic summary video will not do, so that I went back to Saaszilla and bought Tier 3, because I could see the value in this app (Time – saving, better summarizations, and cheap usage costs (byok)).
The Tier 3 allows me a library of several different prompts to change how I want to view this information. I can go into greater detail or use different perspectives based upon my needs. This is the game changer for that 35% of videos that I am really interested in viewing. While I hated to spend the extra money for Tier 3, it will more than return its value to me in time saved plus quick breakdowns of long Youtube videos.
The team behind tubeonai are excellent and have been responsive getting me onboarded and changed from tier 1 to tier 3. They are also releasing updates regularly. It is great to have someone actually respond to you these days.
The byok problem turned out to be a non-issue. It only took 30 minutes to get registered and started. I wish that I had been able to see the program and an example before it asked for a key. The byok is really cheap and going to save me a lot of money, I had thought the ai power was expensive according to the prices other ltds charge, but this will be crazy cheap.
The roadmap looks good for tubeonai, and they are updating it regularly, so far. Kudos to the team, they are doing a good job. There are other summarizers out there that do fancy academic work (I don't need that). I just need something fast and cheap that will let me get as deep into the summary as I want and tubeonai, does that. Do yourself a favor and get it now while it is cheap, and save yourself some time.

I admit: At first, I wasn’t really excited about TubeonAI and even requested a downgrade, which was super easy to do. But after spending some more time with the software, I realized: This is exactly what I needed.
I watch YouTube videos often but quickly get annoyed when they don’t get to the point. With TubeonAI, I can "watch" even long videos in just 2 minutes and grasp the content. It’s especially helpful for topics that provide tips or even news. If I still have questions, I can have them answered directly.
I also created my own prompts that summarize the content of a video for, say, an Instagram post – complete with hashtags. Absolutely brilliant!
TubeonAI has become my new favorite software.

1. Could you integrate Text-To-Speech from other services like Azure and let user pick their preferred tts service? I can provide my own key for that as well. You are currently only using OpenAI's tts, and in my opinion, Azure's tts is way better in English and other languages. I listen to the summary in Chinese, and OpenAI's tts for that language glitches quite a bit.
2. Add a language option called something like "Native" which is the video's native language. As someone who use both Chinese and English, I prefer to listen to the summary in the video's native language so nothing gets lost in translation. Alternatively, enable the summary language setting on per-channel basis, while keeping the global setting for the default summary language.

2. Regarding the "Native" suggestion. That's a good suggestion. I have no way of telling (since my native language is English…) how good the summarization is in Chinese for example. But having said that – sticking with the Native language summary or whatever language the video is recorded in makes sense. Provided the summary is good in the native language.

I wish there was a language setting for the basic UI. I am Korean, and the summary is in Korean, but Timestamp and TLDR are all supported only in English. And as others have mentioned, I only found out about the API after purchasing it. It wasn't like that when I used the trial version. As someone who is not familiar with OPEN AI, I had quite a hard time with the initial settings. However, I think I learned a lot thanks to it. Since it is a product that I purchased after using it for a few days and thinking about it, I hope there will be many improvements and developments in the future.

1) I am not sure that I understand the BYUK aspects here. Do I need my own paid openai account to use this deal? BYOK doesn't seem to be mentioned on your site.

3) Can I upload multiple video files at once? I have many 1-5 minute files that I would like a summary of the total of them, not just each one individually.

Yes, you will need an account with OpenAI to get an API key from them.
You can use your own videos provided they are publicly accessible via the Internet. Mehedi may have more details on this.
You'll have to combine the smaller videos into a single video to get them summarized. Shorter videos (< 5 min) aren't great candidates for summarizing. Our sweet spot and where you get the biggest bang for the buck would be 30min – 4 hours which is our max (currently).

I just joined T3 with BYOK, but the summaries in Romanian are of poor quality. I am well-versed in working with the OpenAI API. We should be able to choose the language model precisely. Otherwise, in my case, the content generated as a summary sounds like GPT-3.5. Also, having access to webhooks and the API on the highest tier is a must. Also there is no mention about API usage

We use speech to text to convert the audio track to text, then summarize the generated transcript.

Since there is typically no transcript for Podcasts we have to generate the transcript first, then do the summarization.

Not sure what you mean here. We let the model do the summarization. You could add custom prompts to further extend or reduce the summary

For now, you can create an account, try TubeOnAI with 200 minutes free limit. Summarize Youtube video, articles, google drive content, docs, pdfs etc etc, use Repurpose Content feature, Ask Follow up question feature etc and then Buy the SaaSZilla deal and redeem the license code.

Hi, as stated in the Plans and Features > Features Included in All Plans section, all tiers are under BYOK (Bring Your Own Key – OpenAI) access. You'll also find it explained by the team on the Pinned Resources section > Deal and product FAQs "post". This is now also denoted as (BYOK) alongside the minute allocation in the pricing tables, which I hope clarifies things.
Regarding how the number of minutes work for articles (because for videos and audio that should be easy to calculate), I'm going to let their team know so they can clarify further 😀

In simpler terms, we convert the text content from PDFs, Google Slides, Docs, Sheets, etc., into length. Our formula is:
1 second ≈ 12.73 characters
So, for text-based content, we calculate the time based on the number of characters, which converts to seconds, then minutes.
For example, if a PDF is 3 pages long, with an average of 1,800 characters per page (based on typical text density), that would be approximately 5,400 characters. Using our formula:
5,400 characters ÷ 12.73 ≈ 424 seconds
424 seconds ≈ 7 minutes
TubeOnAI will count this content as about 7 minutes of processing time.
